Stop 2: Montreux, Switzerland
We arrived in Montreux around three in the afternoon and made our way to the hotel. This hotel was most definitely one of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. Our room overlooked the lake with a great balcony. We freshened up before going to find some dinner and stroll through the city.
Not far from the hotel we came across the Freddie Mercury statue which is next to the lake. We found a nice little place for dinner. After dinner, we strolled longer looking at the stores. We bought some snacks and beer to bring back to the room to enjoy on our balcony.
The next day we took the bus down to Chateau Chillon which was built on a rock in the middle of the lake - talk about innovative architects!

The castle and its dungeon have inspired many different authors and artists throughout the years. I feel like I most definitely have read about it during one of my many French lit classes.
After visiting the castle in the morning, we returned to the hotel to gather our things to get on the ferry to our next stop - Vevey!
