Stop 1: Zurich, Switzerland

Emily and I decided to meet in Zurich a day prior to our trip beginning and I'm super glad that we did. Emily was super jetlagged from her travels and we wanted to be able to see as much of the city as we could in the short amount of time we got.

On our first full day in Zurich (after finding the tastiest iced coffee) we took the funicular from the old city up to university. According to the receptionist, it was the best view of the city - and I think he was right! We wandered around the gorgeous campus finally just to find ourselves sitting looking down at the city for an hour while chatting.

We eventually did wander back down into town to just to find ourselves just enamored with the simple yet breath-taking beauty of Zurich. So much so that we had to take another snack break by the water.

It is rumored that Switzerland is an expensive country - well that's not a rumor Switzerland is a super pricey place to travel to! But we tried to do our best, plus I think taking a picnic by this gorgeous view is more memorable than an expensive meal at some stuffy restaurant.

We decided to get to bed pretty early since we were still jetlagged and had an early train to catch the next day!
Next stop: Montreux!
